The Materials Science Institute of Mulhouse (IS2M) leads a multidisciplinary research in materials science with high-level expertise in chemistry and physics of surfaces and interfaces and in the field of porous materials. Thanks to its multidisciplinary approach, the organization has a lot of cooperation with industrial partners on regional, national and international levels. In the interview, Dr. Karine Mougin describes particularities of industry-academia partnerships and main differences in problem solving for both parties. Dr. Mougin also highlights various steps in establishing collaboration with industrial partners, presents a new efficient partnership system and challenges she faced.
