Dr. Faiz Ahmad is a Professor and the Head of Centre for Advanced and Functional Materials at the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), a leading private university in Malaysia established in 1997. UTP is a wholly-owned subsidiary of PETRONAS, the national oil and gas company of Malaysia. Dr. Ahmad has more than 20 years of teaching experience. In his career, Dr. Ahmad has led more than 30 research projects of various disciplines of materials funded by Government and industry. He also worked for 10 years as a Principal Research Officer and Assistant Director of industrial projects for the Government of Pakistan. In the interview, Dr. Ahmad tells about the importance of industrial-academic collaboration and describes what models he used. Dr. Ahmad also highlights particular challenges he faced through his career and how to solve them. In conclusion, Dr. Ahmad shares his personal experience concerning working with Inospin.
